Use of vernacular materials and consideration of local planning policy and conservation requirements is given to these properties, working with the architecture to create a space that works well for modern living yet is sympathetic to the building and surrounding landscape. We take time to research and understand the history of the land to inform our design concept for older properties.

New Build Properties

With a blank canvas we work with our clients to create a stylish space that helps the property to sit well within the landscape yet is tailored to the style and needs of our clients. As part of our Site Analysis for new build properties we look at the soil in particular as this may need improvement following compaction by construction traffic, which will help to reduce any drainage issues and will improve the chances of successfully installing new plants. Soft landscaping is key to helping a new property embed itself in the landscape and, with the correct selection of shrubs and trees, can be easy to look after while also looking great.

We are delighted that several of the gardens Heather has designed have won awards from the Association of Professional Landscapers, including GOLD for a modern family garden in 2018, GOLD for a multi-functional, luxury new-build garden in 2019 and BEST GARDEN FEATURE for this Moon Gate, incorporating a design by the client’s daughter, leading into our clients new Kitchen Garden in 2021.
